3 men charged in robbery, assault in Ballston Spa

BALLSTON SPA, NY — Three men have been charged in connection with a robbery and assault that left a victim seriously injured.

On May 19, 2026, at about 10:50 p.m., troopers responded to a residence on Maple Avenue for the report of a robbery with the victim seriously injured in the area of their home.

The investigation determined Braedon M. Loveday, 19, of Middle Grove, an 18-year-old, and Timothy Wilbur, 34, of Middle Grove, reportedly participated in assaulting the victim.

During the assault, Loveday allegedly struck the victim multiple times with a baseball bat until they were unconscious before taking the victim’s cellphone and cash.

Loveday, Wilbur and the 18-year-old fled the scene in a vehicle before law enforcement’s arrival.

On May 23, 2026, Loveday was located during a traffic stop on Interstate-87 in Round Lake, where he was taken into custody.

He was transported to SP Saratoga for processing and then arraigned at the Ballston Town Court, where he was remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 cash, $100,000 bond, or a $500,000 partially secured bond.

On July 3, 2026, the 18-year-old was located and arrested at their home and transported to SP Saratoga for processing.

They were then arraigned at the Ballston Town Court where they were remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility in lieu of $40,000 cash, $40,000 bond, or $200,000 partially secured bond.

On July 8, 2026, Wilbur was taken into custody with the assistance of the Saratoga County Probation Department and transported to SP Saratoga for processing.

He was then arraigned at the Ballston Town Court where he was remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 cash, $100,000 bond, or $500,000 partially secured bond.

Each has been charged with robbery 1st, a class “B” felony; gang assault 2nd, a class “C” felony; and assault 2nd, a class “D” felony.
