JAMESTOWN, NY — Police are searching for a missing 15-year-old girl who has been in contact with her family but is refusing to return home.
Tajiah McBride was reported missing on June 14.
The Jamestown Police Department said McBride has been in contact with her family and a police detective and is not believed to be in any danger.
McBride is described as a Black female, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 180 pounds with black hair.
Anyone with information on McBride’s whereabouts is asked to call the Jamestown Police Department at 716-483-7537.
Police said anyone knowingly harboring a missing juvenile is in violation of New York State Penal Law section 260.10, which is punishable by up to a year in jail and up to a $1,000 fine.
