Man arrested on felony criminal mischief charge in Lima

LIMA, NY — A 45-year-old man was arrested on a felony charge following a domestic dispute on July 5, 2026.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on Rochester Street for a report of a domestic dispute in progress.

Deputies made contact with the victim, who reported that John Rauchbauer, of Lima, had been in a verbal argument with the victim.

Rauchbauer allegedly damaged a vehicle during the incident.

Rauchbauer was arrested and charged with felony Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree.

He was transported to the Livingston County Jail for arrest processing and pre-arraignment detention.

Rauchbauer was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Livonia Justice Chichester.

The judge released Rauchbauer on his own recognizance as the offense does not qualify for bail under the New York State Bail Reform Act.

The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office represented Rauchbauer at the arraignment.

The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office represented the People.
