Man arrested on DUI charge in Fairlee

FAIRLEE, VT — A 20-year-old man was arrested on a DUI charge after driving past a crash scene blockade late Wednesday night.

Joseph Moore, of Newport Center, was stopped by Vermont State Police after driving past the blockade at 1997 U.S. Route 5 at 11:56 p.m. July 2.

Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks were processing a crash scene when Moore drove past the blockade.

While speaking with Moore, troopers detected indicators of impairment, according to police.

Moore was arrested on suspicion of DUI and transported to the Vermont State Police Bradford Outpost for processing.

Moore was charged with DUI and issued a citation to appear in Orange County Superior Court – Criminal Division on July 22 at 8:30 a.m.
