MEDFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ — A 16-year-old was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated following a crash involving an E-bike and a motor vehicle.
The Medford Township Police responded to the intersection of Route 70 and Jones Road at approximately 9:39 p.m. July 2.
Police determined the E-bike was traveling at a high rate of speed without operating lights when it entered the intersection and collided with a vehicle making a lawful left turn.
A juvenile passenger on the E-bike was ejected during the collision and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The 16-year-old operator displayed signs of impairment and admitted to consuming alcohol prior to operating the E-bike, police said.
He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and issued multiple traffic summonses before being released to a guardian.
