NEWARK, NJ — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying three suspects involved in a carjacking and assault.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:06 p.m. on June 14, 2026, at South Orange Avenue and South Munn Avenue.
The victim was making a delivery for Uber Eats on a black Zenen moped when he stopped at a traffic light.
One of three suspects approached the victim and gestured as if he had a weapon in his waistband.
The suspect pushed the victim off the moped, causing him to fall to the ground.
Two other suspects then assaulted the victim on the ground.
The first suspect rode away eastbound on the moped, which had New Jersey registration 6AWN1.
He was wearing a gray sweater and dark-colored sweatpants.
The second suspect was wearing a dark gray sweater and dark-colored sweatpants.
The third suspect was wearing all black clothing.
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. is urging anyone with information on the suspects’ identities to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-695-8477.
