Police seek help identifying burglary suspect in Newark

NEWARK, NJ — Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who stole personal belongings from a vehicle.

The victim parked their vehicle in the 300 block of Renner Avenue at approximately 3 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026.

The next day, a suspect was captured on surveillance video entering the victim’s vehicle and taking several items from the trunk.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male wearing a grey sweater, gray sweatpants, a navy-blue Yankees hat and black sneakers with red bottoms.

He fled southbound on Goodwin Avenue.

Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. urges anyone with information on the suspect’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
