Woman arrested on attempted-murder charges in Brandon

BRANDON, VT — A 51-year-old woman accused of stabbing two relatives has been arrested and charged with attempted murder.

Tamara Stone, of Brandon, returned to the home on Triangle Court where the incident occurred at about 6:05 a.m. Saturday and called 911.

Responding troopers located and arrested Stone at the scene.

She was jailed on a warrant for two counts of attempted second-degree murder and first-degree aggravated domestic assault.

Stone was ordered held without bail at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility in Rutland pending arraignment.

Stone is expected to appear in court on Monday, June 29.

The incident occurred at about 8:25 a.m. Thursday, June 25, at the residence on Triangle Court.

Two of Stone’s adult relatives were stabbed and suffered serious injuries.

One victim was taken by helicopter to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, and the other was brought by ambulance to Rutland Regional Medical Center.

The affidavit of probable cause will be filed with the court and made public following Stone’s arraignment.
