OLD LYCOMING TOWNSHIP, PA — A Williamsport man was arrested after allegedly stealing a bottle of vodka from a liquor store on June 27.

Lycoming Regional Police were dispatched to the Fine Wine and Good Spirits Store located at 2067 Lycoming Creek Road at 10:35 a.m. for a retail theft in progress.

An employee reported a white male hid a bottle of liquor in his jacket.

The employee said “excuse me sir” to the man as he was leaving the store with the bottle, and the male ran outside and around the building.

Officers arrived on scene and apprehended the suspect, identified as Dillon James Wight, 42, of Williamsport.

Wight had in his possession a bottle of Smirnoff Orange Vodka valued at $15.59 which he failed to pay for.

A background check revealed Wight has a prior retail theft conviction, making this a second offense and upgrading the charge to a misdemeanor 2.

Wight was processed and released and will receive a summons to appear before a Magisterial District Judge.
