Man arrested on child endangerment charge in Hartwick

HARTWICK, NY — A Cooperstown man was arrested on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child following an investigation into a dispute, according to the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office.

John C. Meyer, 66, of Cooperstown, was taken into custody on June 24, 2026.

Meyer was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Hartwick Town Court at a later date.

The Sheriff’s Office did not release additional details about the nature of the dispute or the circumstances surrounding the arrest.
