BINGHAMTON, NY — A joint press conference will be held regarding a fatal fire at the Knights Inn on June 25 at 1:30 p.m.
The press conference will take place at the Broome County District Attorney’s Office in the George R. Harvey Justice Building at 45 Hawley Street.
New York State Police Superintendent Steven G. James will speak at the event.
Other speakers include New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation Captain Lucas Anthony, Broome County District Attorney Paul Battisti, Broome County Executive Jason Garnar and Town of Union Supervisor Rob Mack.
Representatives from several partnering agencies will also be present, including the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control, the Endwell Fire Chief, the Commissioner of Department of Social Services, the Executive Director of the Crime Victims Assistance Center, a representative from the New York State Office of Victims Services, the Executive Director of the American Red Cross Southern Tier Chapter and Broome County Sheriff Fred Akshar.
Media credentials will be required.
The press conference will be live streamed on the Broome County Sheriff’s Facebook page on behalf of the New York State Police.
It will also be added to the New York State Police YouTube page at a later time.
