KINGSTON, NY — A Brooklyn man faces multiple charges after allegedly fleeing from state troopers and crashing into another vehicle on June 21, 2026.
Troopers from the Kingston Barracks observed a 2019 Kia traveling on Washington Avenue at approximately 9:53 p.m. in violation of multiple traffic laws.
The vehicle failed to stop when troopers attempted a traffic stop, leading to a pursuit that lasted approximately four minutes.
During the pursuit, the Kia traveled northwest on Washington Avenue and sideswiped a 2011 Ford before leaving the scene.
The driver, identified as Quavon V. Travis, 32, of Brooklyn, stopped the vehicle on Colonial Drive and fled on foot.
Troopers pursued Travis on foot and took him into custody shortly thereafter.
A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 14.2 grams of Adderall and approximately 4.36 grams of Percocet.
Travis was transported to the State Police Kingston Barracks for processing.
He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor; unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor; and resisting arrest, a class A misdemeanor.
Travis also received multiple traffic tickets.
Travis had two outstanding warrants from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Parole for a parole violation.
He was arraigned in the Central Arraignment Part of Kingston City Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail pending a future court date.
