SPRINGFIELD, MA — A 26-year-old man wanted on four outstanding warrants was arrested Tuesday morning following a multi-agency operation.
Shyloe Harris, of Springfield, was taken into custody inside a home on Silver Street at approximately 9 a.m. June 23.
Members of the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit, Springfield Police Warrant Apprehension Unit, Springfield Police Emergency Services Unit, Massachusetts State Police VFAS, Hampden County Sheriff’s Department, Hampden District Attorney’s SAFE Unit, United States Marshals Service and United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force participated in the arrest.
Investigators had been attempting to locate Harris for several months in connection with firearms charges, shootings and a home invasion.
After receiving information that Harris had returned to Springfield and was at the Silver Street residence, the Springfield Police ESU executed a search warrant.
Harris faces charges including firearm-armed assault to murder, assault and battery with a firearm, home invasion, breaking and entering into a building at nighttime for a felony, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, carrying a firearm without a license (second offense), carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without an FID card, assault with a dangerous weapon, malicious destruction of property, assault and battery, threat to commit a crime, failure to stop for police, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of a property damage crash, and operating an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle.
