HOOKSETT, NH — Three people suffered serious injuries in a head-on collision during the morning commute on Interstate 293.
At 5:40 a.m. Tuesday, state troopers assigned to the Troop B barracks responded to a crash involving two vehicles on I-293 northbound in the area of mile marker 11.
The preliminary investigation determined that the driver of a 2020 Subaru Legacy, later identified as Timothy Hubbard, 43, of Rome, Maine, was traveling southbound when he lost control of the vehicle and crossed the center median into the northbound lanes.
The Subaru then collided head-on with a Ford F-150 traveling north.
Hubbard, his passenger and the driver of the Ford were all transported to area hospitals to be treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The northbound lanes, as well as the left southbound lane, were closed for approximately an hour while troopers and emergency personnel investigated the crash.
Speed is believed to be a factor in the collision; however, all aspects of the crash remain under investigation.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Trooper Isaiah Acquaye at [email protected].
