SHARON, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a Montpelier man on suspicion of driving under the influence after he allegedly struck a parked vehicle and left the scene.
Troopers from the Royalton Barracks received a report at approximately 9:25 a.m. June 23, 2026, of a vehicle that had struck a parked vehicle in the parking lot of the Sharon Welcome Center before leaving the scene.
Troopers located the vehicle on Interstate 89 northbound in the area of mile marker 25 and initiated a traffic stop.
The operator was identified as Joseph Henry, 38, of Montpelier.
Throughout the interaction, Henry was displaying signs of impairment, police said.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Henry was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.
Henry was transported to the Vermont State Police Royalton Barracks for processing.
Henry was issued a criminal citation to appear in Windsor County Court Criminal Division on July 7, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charges.
