Two arrested on DUI charges in Lincoln

LINCOLN, RI — Rhode Island State Police arrested two people on separate driving under the influence charges on Jan. 11.

Troopers arrested Magaly Cortes Gomez, 46, of North Providence, at 1:28 p.m. for driving under the influence of liquor, first offense, and DUI of liquor/drugs with child passenger, second offense.

The arrest originated from a warrant out of the Warwick Police Department.

Troopers conducted a well-being check in Lincoln Woods State Park that led to the arrest.

Cortes Gomez was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where she was processed and later transported to the Adult Correctional Institution-Women’s Intake Center.

In a separate incident, troopers arrested Vladimir Guzman Abreu, 33, of Providence, at 1:06 a.m. for driving under the influence of liquor, first offense, and refusal to submit to chemical test, first offense.

The arrest resulted from troopers responding to a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 95 North in the city of Providence.

Abreu was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks where he was processed, arraigned by the justice of the peace, and released with a notice to appear in Sixth Division District Court.
