Man arrested after fleeing traffic stop in Bradford

BRADFORD, ME — A Lee man was arrested after fleeing from a traffic stop and crashing his vehicle into a bog area on June 19, 2026.

A Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on Main Road at approximately 11:40 a.m.

The vehicle operator fled at a high rate of speed while the deputy was turning around to initiate the traffic stop.

The deputy did not activate emergency lights prior to the vehicle fleeing.

The deputy briefly lost sight of the vehicle before being flagged down by nearby motorists who reported that the suspect vehicle had left the roadway and crashed into a bog area.

The male driver abandoned the vehicle on Carriage Lane near Main Road and fled on foot.

Deputies later located and took the suspect into custody without incident.

The driver was identified as Aaron Grover, 41, of Lee.

Grover was arrested and charged with driving to endanger.

Grover’s right to operate a motor vehicle was suspended at the time of the incident.

Grover was transported to the Penobscot County Jail.
