Man arrested on multiple theft charges in Kingston

KINGSTON, NY — A man faces multiple felony charges following a series of thefts over a five-day period in June.

Luke M. Heiser, 23, of Kingston, was arrested four times between June 9 and June 13, according to the City of Kingston Police Department.

On June 9, a victim reported the theft of a wallet and the subsequent use of credit cards inside.

The wallet was recovered from a storm drain and returned to the owner.

Police identified Heiser as the suspect.

On June 11, following an investigation into a vehicle theft, Heiser was found in possession of the stolen vehicle after a personal injury auto accident in Woodstock, New York.

Heiser was brought to the Kingston Police Department following treatment at HealthAlliance Hospital Mary’s Avenue and charged with felony grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property for the June 11 vehicle theft.

He was also charged with felony grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and two counts of petit larceny for the June 9 incident.

He was released with an appearance ticket.

On June 12, after an investigation into another vehicle theft, Heiser was located and arrested.

He was charged with felony grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.

He was arraigned in Kingston City Court and released.

On June 13, during an overnight traffic stop, Heiser was found in possession of another stolen motor vehicle.

He was arrested and charged with felony grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.

He was arraigned and released by Ulster County C.A.P. court.
