Firearm arrest after pursuit in Hartford

HARTFORD, CT — Two men face multiple charges following a pursuit and crash that ended with the recovery of a loaded handgun on May 22, 2026.

Members of the Hartford Police Street Crimes Unit observed a vehicle displaying a stolen license plate traveling on Sigourney Street on Friday.

Officers attempted a motor vehicle stop near the intersection of Sigourney Street and Sargeant Street.

The operator failed to obey the officer’s emergency signal and recklessly accelerated away.

Officers successfully deployed a tire deflation device during the pursuit.

At the intersection of Sigourney Street and Asylum Avenue, the suspect vehicle became involved in a two-car collision, causing disabling damage to both vehicles and resulting in minor injuries.

Following the crash, the front-seat passenger fled on foot but was quickly apprehended.

During a canvass of the passenger’s flight path, officers recovered a loaded semi-automatic handgun.

Amari Williams-Lindsay, 22, of Hartford, was arrested on charges including motor vehicle violations and weapons in a motor vehicle.

Nasir Nowlin, 22, of Hartford, was arrested on charges including interfering with police, weapons in a motor vehicle, possession of a high capacity magazine, carrying a pistol without a permit and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.

Police recovered a Glock Model 17 9mm handgun with a high-capacity magazine loaded with 32 live 9mm rounds.
