Man arrested on assault charge in Pelham

PELHAM, NH — A Salem man was arrested after allegedly striking another driver with his vehicle during a road rage incident in a parking lot.

Stephen Scott, 58, of Salem, was taken into custody June 12 following the incident at 1015 Bridge Street.

Pelham Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to the location at approximately 11:09 a.m. for a report of a motor-vehicle accident involving a pedestrian and a disturbance.

Officers arrived and located two males in the parking lot who were involved in the incident.

The incident appeared to have started over a road rage incident in the parking lot involving a Honda Civic and a Ford Raptor.

Officers determined that after words were exchanged, Scott, the operator of the Honda Civic, reversed his vehicle, striking the operator of the Ford Raptor and pinning him between both vehicles.

The operator of the Ford Raptor suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Scott was arrested on scene and transported to the Pelham Police Department.

He was charged with first-degree assault with a deadly weapon, reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, reckless operation and criminal mischief.

Scott was held without bail and transported to the Valley Street Jail pending his arraignment.

He is scheduled to be arraigned in Salem District Court on June 15, 2026, at 8 a.m.
