NORTH SMITHFIELD, RI — Police are seeking the public’s help to identify two men suspected of breaking into a vacant home and stealing firearms.
The incident occurred between approximately 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. on June 11, 2026, at a residence on Mt. Pleasant Avenue, according to the North Smithfield Police Department.
The home has been unoccupied following the death of the resident.
Several firearms were stolen during the burglary, including a shotgun and a rifle, according to the next of kin.
The exact number and types of firearms are still being determined.
Two male suspects were captured on surveillance video.
One suspect was not wearing a face covering and can be seen in photographs released by police.
The second suspect had his face covered but is believed to have distinctive knuckle tattoos visible in surveillance images.
