PENN YAN, NY — A 65-year-old woman was arrested on drunken driving charges after deputies stopped her vehicle for erratic operation Saturday afternoon.
Suzanne K. Ritter, of Victor, was stopped at approximately 4:23 p.m. on Liberty Street in the village of Penn Yan, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy conducted a traffic stop after observing the vehicle operating erratically, according to a press release.
The deputy made contact with Ritter, who showed multiple signs of intoxication, police said.
Ritter was put through a DWI investigation which led to her arrest, according to the release.
Deputies also determined that Ritter was operating while both her driver’s license and registration were suspended, police said.
Ritter was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, moved from lane unsafely, following too closely, aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, operating without insurance and operating while registration suspended or revoked.
She was transported to the Yates County Jail where she was later released on traffic tickets to appear at Penn Yan Village Court at a later date.
