MALTA, NY — A woman was arrested on animal cruelty charges following an investigation into a complaint last month.

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to an animal complaint on May 28 at 10:07 a.m. on Arbor Avenue.

Holly M. Walsh-Plew, 46, of Malta, was arrested Thursday and charged with overdriving, torturing and injuring animals and failure to provide sustenance, a class A misdemeanor.

Walsh-Plew is accused of failing to provide sustenance to a 3-year-old hound mix.

The dog was seized by virtue of a court order and turned over to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter.

Malta Code Enforcement issued a “Do Not Occupy” order for the residence.

Walsh-Plew was released on an appearance ticket pending proceedings in Malta Town Court.
