ALBANY, NY — A 45-year-old Albany woman has been arrested in connection with a stabbing incident on Central Avenue.
Ronita Roberts was taken into custody Wednesday morning in the area of Quail Street and Washington Avenue by members of the Albany Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit.
Officers responded to 400 Central Avenue around 1:25 p.m. Tuesday for reports of an individual who had been stabbed.
Upon arrival, officers located a 67-year-old male with a stab wound to his neck.
The victim was treated on scene by the Albany Fire Department and emergency medical personnel and transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital in stable condition.
Investigation determined that Roberts and the victim were involved in an altercation inside an apartment at 400 Central Avenue.
During the incident, Roberts slashed the victim in the neck with a knife.
Prior to fleeing, she stole a credit card belonging to the victim, according to police.
Roberts has been charged with one count of attempted murder in the second degree, one count of robbery in the first degree and one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
She was arraigned Wednesday afternoon in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
