PALMER, PA — A 35-year-old man was arrested after allegedly entering an occupied vehicle and attempting to drive away with a passenger inside.
Palmer Township Police responded to a business in the 2700 block of Freemansburg Avenue at approximately 10:38 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a male who entered an occupied vehicle and attempted to drive away.
Dispatchers reported the suspect, described as a Black male wearing all green, had exited the vehicle and was running west on Freemansburg Avenue.
Responding officers located the suspect on Freemansburg Avenue and took him into custody without incident.
Police said the suspect entered a Toyota Tacoma truck with a female passenger sitting inside on the passenger seat.
The suspect reversed the truck as the female was screaming, according to police.
The suspect then exited the truck and started running, police said.
The suspect was identified as Randolph Patrick Adams, of Pennsylvania.
Adams was transported to the Palmer Township Police Department for processing.
He was later arraigned by Magisterial District Justice Hutnik and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $50,000 bail.
Adams was charged with robbery of motor vehicle, theft by unlawful taking and unauthorized use of motor vehicle.
