SAYREVILLE, NJ — A woman was arrested Tuesday following a months-long investigation into alleged prostitution and money laundering activities at multiple unlicensed spas across three New Jersey counties.
Kelly Jahnke-Gonzalez, 44, of Jackson, was taken into custody at her residence without incident after search warrants were executed at multiple businesses, corporate offices and her home.
The investigation began in October when the Sayreville Police Department Vice Unit initiated a probe into Jahnke-Gonzalez and several businesses, including multiple spas operating under her name.
Investigators determined that Jahnke-Gonzalez was allegedly managing numerous unlicensed spa locations being used for prostitution activities across Middlesex, Monmouth and Ocean counties.
After extensive surveillance, undercover operations and financial analysis, investigators submitted an affidavit of probable cause to the Middlesex County Superior Court.
Searches resulted in the seizure of over $100,000 in hidden cash, the freezing of several bank accounts and the recovery of additional evidence supporting the allegations.
Jahnke-Gonzalez has been charged with four counts of promoting prostitution, maintaining a nuisance, money laundering and misconduct by a corporate official.
She was processed and released pending further court proceedings.
The investigation involved the Sayreville Police Department, Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Brick Township Police Department, New Jersey Treasury Criminal Investigative Unit, NCIS Earle Station, Homeland Security Investigations and Jackson Township Police Department.
