ALBANY, NY — Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Friday evening on First Street.
Officers responded to the 500 block of First Street near Ontario Street around 10:20 p.m. for reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers located evidence consistent with gunfire.
While officers were still on scene investigating, staff from Albany Medical Center Hospital notified police that a 28-year-old male had entered the emergency department with a gunshot wound to his lower leg.
Through investigation, it has been determined that the victim was shot on First Street.
The victim is being treated for non-life threatening injuries and remains in stable condition.
