WOODBURY, NJ — Woodbury police said officers responded to Heritages Dairy Store at 319 Glassboro Road at about 5 a.m. May 17 for a glass-break alarm and found the front door shattered.
Police said officers cleared the building, found signs of forced entry inside and established a crime scene.
An investigation led by the Woodbury Police Detective Bureau identified a possible suspect through an area canvass, and further investigation confirmed the suspect, police said.
Police said probable cause was established and a judge approved an arrest warrant for Andrew Williams, 22, of Woodbury.
About three hours after the burglary, officers responded to Williams’ last known address in Woodbury, where he was taken into custody without incident, according to police.
Williams was processed at the Woodbury Police Department and later turned over to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Department to be lodged at Salem County Jail pending a bail hearing, police said.
Police said the incident was unrelated to a previous robbery at the same location on March 20.
In that case, police identified Daryl Norman, 53, of Millville as the suspect after what they described as a lengthy investigation.
Police said a judge approved an arrest warrant for Norman, who was taken into custody by Woodbury officers during a motor vehicle stop in Woodbury a few days later.
Norman was processed and lodged at Salem County Jail pending a bail hearing, police said.
