PROVIDENCE, RI — The Providence Police Department has issued a community notification regarding a Level III sex offender.
Kevin W. Wood, 48, of Providence, has been released into the community, according to police.
The notification was issued pursuant to Rhode Island General Laws §11-37.1-1 et seq., known as the Sexual Offender Registration and Community Notification Act.
Wood is subject to registration and community notification requirements under the act.
Law enforcement agencies are authorized to share the information when an individual is released into the community and when the Sex Offender Board of Review determines that doing so will enhance public safety and protection.
