SWEDEN, ME — Oxford County deputies arrested a local man May 14 in connection with a series of seasonal camp burglaries.
Travis Lewis, 49, of Sweden, was taken into custody and deputies executed a search warrant on Knights Hill Road in Sweden.
During the search, deputies recovered stolen property, drug paraphernalia, clothing and other garments linked to a recent seasonal camp burglary.
Deputies also recovered approximately one dozen firearms and methamphetamine.
Lewis was transported to Oxford County Jail and admitted without incident.
He has been charged with Class B burglary, Class B receiving stolen property (firearm), Class C unlawful possession of methamphetamine (5 grams) and Class E theft.
Lewis is being held at Oxford County Jail awaiting court proceedings.
The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging residential home and seasonal camp owners to check their properties, including structures, campers and sheds, and inventory personal items.
Many burglaries have been reported in the area, some dating back to last summer and earlier.
