HORNELL, NY — A 51-year-old man was arrested Thursday on an assault charge stemming from an incident in January.
Frederic W. Voss, of Hornell, was taken into custody without incident on May 8, 2026.
An assault was reported to the City of Hornell Police Department on Jan. 10, 2026, that had occurred in the early morning hours that day on River Street.
An investigation into the incident, along with reviewing security footage, revealed that Voss assaulted another individual with intent to cause physical injury, according to police.
An arrest warrant for third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, was issued by Hornell City Judge David E. Coddington.
Voss was being held at the Steuben County Jail awaiting arraignment.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
