Man arrested on DUI charge in Pen Argyl

PEN ARGYL, PA — A 27-year-old Pennsylvania man was arrested on drunken driving charges after crashing into a utility pole early Friday morning.

Police were dispatched at approximately 3:46 a.m. to a report of a motor vehicle crash in the 2000 block of Delabole Road.

Officers arrived and found a single vehicle that had struck a utility pole.

Contact was made with the driver, who was identified as Tyler John Bell of Pennsylvania.

Officers observed signs of impairment and requested Bell perform field sobriety exercises.

Additional signs of impairment were observed and Bell was placed under arrest.

Bell was transported to the County DUI Center and agreed to submit to a chemical test.

Laboratory results indicated Bell’s blood alcohol content was 0.177 percent ethanol.

Bell was charged with DUI highest rate of alcohol, driving under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia and various traffic offenses.

Charges were filed through District Court.
