Man arrested on domestic violence charges in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, NY — An 18-year-old man was arrested following a domestic dispute on the south side of the city.

Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s Second Platoon responded to the incident at approximately 5:52 p.m. on May 5, 2026.

Police said the suspect engaged in a physical altercation with a victim and placed his hand around the victim’s throat in an attempt to choke them.

The suspect attempted to flee when officers advised him he was being placed under arrest.

After a brief pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody.

He was transported to UPMC for evaluation of injuries sustained during the pursuit.

The suspect was discharged and transported to the Jamestown City Jail without further incident.

He was held pending arraignment and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and resisting arrest.
