Man arrested on assault charges in Manchester

MANCHESTER, NH — Police arrested a man on assault charges after responding to a domestic violence call on Bruce Road on May 6, 2026.

The Manchester Police Department responded to the address at approximately 8:30 a.m. for a reported domestic violence incident involving an adult son strangling his elderly father.

Gary Miller, 57, of Manchester, emerged from the front door upon police arrival and attacked the responding officer without provocation, according to police.

During the altercation, Miller was combative even while in handcuffs and required the additional use of leg restraints and a spit hood, police said.

Miller was placed under arrest and charged with second degree assault, resisting arrest and simple assault.
