LEBANON, NH — A Hartford man was arrested on multiple charges including narcotics possession following a year-long investigation into two separate police pursuits.
Keith Guilbault, 47, of Hartford, was taken into custody without incident at approximately 1 p.m. on May 6 at a residence on South Main Street in West Lebanon.
The arrest stems from two incidents in 2025 in which Guilbault allegedly fled from police.
The first incident occurred at approximately 12:19 a.m. on May 6, 2025, when a Lebanon police officer conducting traffic enforcement on Interstate 89 observed a silver Ford Fusion traveling northbound at speeds exceeding 120 miles per hour.
The officer attempted to stop the vehicle near Exit 20, but the vehicle failed to stop and continued northbound through the Veterans Bridge construction zone before crossing into Vermont.
The vehicle later exited Interstate 89 and continued onto Interstate 91 northbound.
A warrant for Guilbault’s arrest was obtained following the incident.
A second incident occurred at approximately 12:29 a.m. on July 3, 2025, when Lebanon police officers conducted a traffic stop on the same silver Ford Fusion for an expired registration in the area of 67 Main Street.
Officers confirmed Guilbault was the driver and had an active arrest warrant related to the May incident.
Guilbault refused to exit the vehicle and became argumentative, according to police.
As officers attempted to remove him from the vehicle, Guilbault resisted, shifted the vehicle into drive, and fled the scene southbound on Main Street, police said.
Police initiated a pursuit as the vehicle traveled through several residential and commercial areas of the city.
During the pursuit, Guilbault failed to stop at multiple stop signs and operated the vehicle at speeds significantly above the posted speed limit on Maple Street, a densely populated residential neighborhood, according to police.
The pursuit continued through the intersection of Dana Street, Main Street, North Main Street, and Bridge Street before the vehicle crossed into Vermont.
Officers terminated the pursuit once the vehicle entered Vermont due to public safety considerations.
New Hampshire extraditable warrants for both incidents were obtained for Guilbault’s arrest.
During his arrest on May 6, officers located crack cocaine in Guilbault’s possession, police said.
Guilbault faces charges of disobeying an officer, two counts; reckless operation, two counts; reckless conduct; resisting arrest; negligent driving; and felony possession of crack cocaine.
He was held on preventative detention pending an arraignment in Lebanon District Court on May 7.
Guilbault is currently on bail in Windsor County related to a separate pending criminal case involving aggravated assault, simple assault and resisting arrest stemming from an October 2025 incident investigated by the Windsor County Sheriff’s Department.
The Lebanon Police Department was assisted during the arrest by the Hartford Police Department, including the use of an on-duty K-9 unit.
