LYNDONVILLE, VT — A 20-year-old man was arrested on a drug-related DUI charge following a traffic stop on Severance Hill Road.
Joseph William Garrett, of St. Johnsbury, was stopped by a Lyndonville Police Department patrol officer at about 9:02 p.m. April 3 for a speed violation.
The vehicle was clocked at 62 mph in a 35 mph zone using LiDAR, according to police.
The motorist displayed signs of impairment by a substance other than alcohol, police said.
Garrett was arrested and brought to the Lyndonville Police Department, where a Drug Influence Evaluation was performed by a Drug Recognition Expert.
An evidentiary blood draw was obtained with assistance from Lyndon Rescue.
Garrett was released to a sober party on citation into Caledonia Superior Court.
He is scheduled to be arraigned July 27 at 8:30 a.m.
