ASHLAND, MA — Police executed a search warrant Thursday following an overnight shooting that left a vehicle damaged by gunfire.
Officers responded to a 911 call at approximately 1:28 a.m. for a report of an unoccupied vehicle that had been struck by gunfire behind 19 Joanne Drive in a parking lot area.
Four apparent bullet holes were observed on the vehicle.
Members of the Ashland Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit and Patrol Unit investigated the incident.
The Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council SWAT Team assisted Ashland officers in executing the search warrant in the area of Joanne Drive.
Regional assets cleared the scene, though Ashland Police officers remained on scene as they continued to execute the search warrant as of 2:16 p.m.
There were no further restrictions on public access in the area.
Investigators believe this to be an isolated incident.
