HIGHGATE, VT — A man was arrested on an active warrant after fleeing through a window when state troopers arrived at a residence on Thornton Drive.
Austin Robtoy, 26, of Highgate, was taken into custody on April 23, 2026, at approximately 2:20 p.m.
Troopers from the St. Albans Barracks had received information that Robtoy was at an address on Thornton Drive.
As troopers arrived at the residence, Robtoy exited through an exterior window on the back of the home.
Troopers apprehended Robtoy shortly after he fled the property.
Robtoy was transported to Northwest State Correctional Facility in St. Albans, where he was held on $1,000 bail.
He was issued a citation ordering him to appear before Franklin County Criminal Court on April 24, 2026, at 1 p.m.
The warrant included charges of felony unlawful mischief over $1,000, simple assault, domestic assault, petit larceny, and multiple counts of violation of probation and violation of conditions of release.
