WARWICK, RI — State police arrested a Providence man on drunken driving and license charges following reports of erratic driving on Route 295 South.
Pathra Rot, 33, of Providence, was taken into custody at 5:30 p.m. and charged with driving under the influence of an intoxicating liquor, first offense, and driving with a suspended license, fourth or subsequent offense.
The arrest followed multiple E-911 calls reporting an erratic operator, according to Captain Jeffrey P. L’heureux, District B commander of the Rhode Island State Police.
Troopers conducted a motor vehicle stop on the highway in response to the calls.
Rot was transported to State Police Headquarters where he was processed and arraigned by a justice of the peace.
He was released to the custody of a responsible adult and is scheduled to appear in Third District Court at a future date.
