Two arrested on drug charges in Pleasant Valley

PLEASANT VALLEY, NY — Two women were arrested on drug and alcohol-related charges after a state trooper stopped to assist their disabled vehicle on the Taconic State Parkway.

A New York State Trooper assigned to the Poughkeepsie barracks stopped to help a disabled 2017 Nissan on the parkway northbound near mile marker 54.6 on April 17, 2026, at approximately 5:54 p.m.

The vehicle had run out of fuel.

The operator was identified as Melissa R. Cammarata, 31, of Ridgewood, New York, and the front seat passenger as Pauline D. Seng, 35, of Ridgewood, New York.

While speaking with Cammarata, the trooper observed signs of intoxication.

Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered, which she failed.

She was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated.

An inventory of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of approximately 134.2 grams of cocaine, approximately 10.4 grams of ketamine and approximately 9.0 grams of MDMA.

Seng was taken into custody and found to be in possession of numerous Adderall pills.

Both occupants were transported to the Poughkeepsie barracks for processing, where Cammarata submitted a chemical breath test that yielded a blood alcohol content of 0.17 percent.

Cammarata was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony; criminal sale of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a class D felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor; criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor; operating a motor vehicle with 0.08 percent or more of 1 percent alcohol in blood, an unclassified misdemeanor; and driving while intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor.

Seng was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony; criminal sale of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a class D felony; three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, class A misdemeanors; and criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.

Both were arraigned in the Town of Pleasant Valley Court and released.

They are scheduled to return to court on April 28, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.
