KINGSTON, NY — A 12-year-old bicyclist was injured after colliding with a stopped vehicle at the intersection of Hasbrouck Avenue and Foxhall Avenue on April 17, 2026.
Kingston Police responded to the scene at approximately 8:15 p.m.
According to the investigation, the vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Foxhall Avenue at Hasbrouck Avenue, heading towards Broadway.
The cyclist was traveling down Hasbrouck Avenue in the direction of Central Station Firehouse.
Police determined the brakes on the bicycle failed, causing the juvenile operator to continue through the intersection, unable to stop.
The bicycle swerved towards the stopped vehicle and collided with it.
The bicyclist was ejected from the bicycle as a result of the collision.
The vehicle operator remained at the scene.
Members of the Kingston Police Department’s Patrol and Detective Division responded to investigate the incident.
The juvenile, a Kingston resident, was transported to HealthAlliance Hospital by the Kingston Fire Department for injuries sustained during the incident.
