SOMERVILLE, MA — Police are investigating two separate assaults and arrested a man in connection with a breaking and entering.
On April 5 at approximately 1:57 p.m., police took a report regarding a past assault in Davis Square.
The victim stated he and his friend were walking when they were approached by a man asking them for money.
The victim refused and the man kicked him.
In a separate incident on April 5 at approximately 2:27 a.m., police took a report regarding another past assault.
The victim stated he was leaving a bar in Davis Square when an unknown individual struck him in the head, rendering him unconscious.
On April 4 at approximately 6:00 p.m., police responded to a residence on Day Street for a breaking and entering.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the reporting party who stated he observed a man enter his neighbor’s house and knew that she wasn’t home.
Officers observed the front door had been forced open and the apartment was ransacked.
The reporting party provided officers with a description of the suspect and he was located in the area of Davis Square.
Officers conducted a search of his person and recovered jewelry stolen from the residence.
He was then placed under arrest.
