Trooper, 4 others injured in crash on Route 100 in Jamaica

JAMAICA, VT — A Vermont State Police trooper and four occupants of another vehicle were injured in a head-on collision Sunday night on Route 100.

The crash occurred at approximately 10:04 p.m. April 19.

Trooper Tyler Breen, 31, of Westminster, was responding to a call for service when he lost control of his 2021 Ford Explorer cruiser while negotiating a right-hand curve.

The cruiser traveled left of center and collided head-on with a 2012 Honda CRV driven by Christina Fisher, 52, of Wardsboro.

Breen sustained minor injuries and was treated and released from Grace Cottage Hospital in Townshend.

Fisher sustained minor injuries and was treated and released from Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.

The front passenger in Fisher’s vehicle, Reika Fisher, 18, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

She was transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital and later transferred to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.

Myra Jacobs, 33, of Wardsboro, a rear driver’s side passenger, sustained minor injuries and was treated and released from Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.

Kaori Shiya, 50, a rear passenger side passenger, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital and later transferred to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.

Breen and another trooper provided medical assistance to the four injured individuals until emergency medical personnel arrived.

Both vehicles were totaled.

All occupants were wearing seat belts.

The weather was cloudy and cold, and road conditions were clear and dry.
