Man arrested on menacing charge in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, NY — Police arrested a man April 19, 2026, after he allegedly pointed a handgun at another person during a vehicle chase.

Officers were dispatched to the east side of Jamestown at approximately 6:28 p.m. for a vehicle complaint.

The operator of a vehicle, Charles L. Cooper Sr., was reported to be chasing another vehicle with a victim inside.

During the chase, Cooper pointed a handgun at the victim, according to police.

Cooper was quickly located and arrested by officers from the Second Platoon.

He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment on a charge of second-degree menacing.
