STRATHAM, NH — A dump truck driver was hospitalized after his vehicle rolled over on Route 101 early Monday morning.

Around 6:30 a.m. on April 20, state troopers assigned to the Troop A barracks responded to a reported rollover crash involving a commercial vehicle on Route 101 in Stratham.

The preliminary on-scene investigation determined that a 1999 Freightliner dump truck was traveling eastbound when the driver lost control, and the truck slid into the center median, struck a guardrail, and rolled onto its side before it stopped in the center median.

The driver of the dump truck, identified as Michael Turner, 46, of Fremont, was transported to Exeter Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The truck was not carrying any contents at the time of the crash.

Multiple lanes of Route 101 were closed for about two hours while the crash was investigated and debris was cleared.

Troop A was assisted at the scene by members of Troop G, Stratham Fire Department, Plaistow Fire Department’s Advanced Life Support paramedic intercept program, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, and the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services.

At this time, speed and weather conditions are believed to be factors in the crash; however, all aspects remain under investigation.
