WEBSTER, NY — A 16-year-old male was arrested April 18, 2026, after allegedly attempting to drag a woman into a room to assault her at the Country Manor Way apartment complex.
Webster Police officers responded to the complex at approximately 3:45 p.m. following reports of an assault in progress.
Nearby residents heard the victim yelling for help and intervened, preventing the suspect from continuing the assault, according to police.
The suspect fled on foot when officers arrived but was quickly located and taken into custody.
Police identified the suspect as a juvenile who resided in the same building as the victim.
The juvenile was arraigned at Monroe County CAP Court and remanded to a juvenile detention center.
He faces charges of attempted rape in the first degree, sexual abuse in the first degree, unlawful imprisonment in the second degree and assault in the third degree.
The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
