HYDE PARK, NY — The Town of Hyde Park Police Department is assisting the FBI in seeking potential victims in connection with an ongoing investigation.

The FBI is investigating Daniel Monarchi, 26, of Red Hook, who was arrested in August and charged by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York under Title 18 U.S.C. § 2251(a) & (e).

Investigators believe Monarchi targeted teenage girls through online chat platforms, including ChatIB, before moving conversations to applications such as Discord and Snapchat.

It is alleged that he coerced minors into engaging in sexually explicit conduct, including the production and distribution of child sexual abuse material.

Authorities believe this criminal activity occurred prior to September 2024 and continued until his arrest in August.

Anyone who may have information regarding potential victims or who believes they may have had contact with Monarchi is urged to contact the Town of Hyde Park Police Department at (845) 229-9340.

Callers should ask to speak with the Detective Bureau.

All information will be kept confidential to the extent permitted by law.

Police are asking the public not to share any information or comments on social media and not to tag any persons who may be victims.
