Plane diverted to Pittsburgh International Airport over security concern

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Police Bomb Squad responded to Pittsburgh International Airport on Thursday after a plane was diverted due to a reported security issue.

Police were called to the airport at 11:47 a.m.

The department’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal team and K9 units conducted a sweep of the aircraft, passengers and luggage.

The search yielded negative results.
