MORGANTOWN, PA — A man has been charged with attempting to illegally purchase a firearm and making false statements to authorities.
Harry Castner, 50, of Pennsylvania, faces charges of sale or transfer of firearms and unsworn falsification to authorities.
Detective Corporal Chad Eberly of the Caernarvon Township Police Department received information from the Pennsylvania State Police Firearms Division on May 6, 2022, regarding a potential criminal investigation into Castner.
The investigation revealed that on January 17, 2021, Castner attempted to purchase a firearm at a gun show held at 6180 Morgantown Road in Caernarvon Township, Berks County.
His application was denied due to a prior prohibiting conviction.
A review of Castner’s ATF Form 4473 revealed that he falsely answered “no” to question 21.c, which asks about prior convictions.
Castner was arrested on April 10, 2026.
