COLCHESTER, CT — Police arrested a man Thursday evening following reports of a disturbance at a Stop and Shop supermarket.
Officers responded to multiple 911 calls at approximately 6 p.m. reporting a verbal altercation between two customers in the self-checkout area.
Additional callers reported that one person was brandishing a handgun during the incident.
Multiple officers responded to the scene and detained all parties involved.
Police determined no firearm was involved in the incident.
One person was arrested following an investigation at the scene.
The name of the person arrested was not immediately released.
